I love fall--pumpkins, cider, the changing leaves. Today, Art and I ventured to the Bronx Zoo. The trees were lovely in their golden and red leaves. I love seeing the animals, and the zoo was a nice, peaceful escape from the city. Most of the animals had pumpkins or gourds in their cages. Even they can be festive too.
I've also recently finished reading
Jane Eyre. I thought it was time to branch out past Jane Austen. After finishing the book, I watched the PBS miniseries, which was a very strong adaptaion. I think Mr. Rochester might be able to rival Mr. Darcy. However, I do still like Jane Austen a bit better than the Brontes. Their writing lacks the wit and humor of Austen, but I enjoyed the romance between Jane and Mr. Rochester.
