I've been to Princeton a few times to see Art perform in a musical theatre show as well as opera scenes. Princeton is a charming little town and a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
For the Fourth of July, we rented a car and drove to Pennsylvania to the spot where George Washington crossed the Delaware River. They had a park to commemorate the site with Colonial buildings and people dressed in costume talking about cooking, printing, and blacksmiting. At noon, someone read the Declaration of Independence and they shot off a canon periodically. Very patriotic. Then we drove to Doylestown, a cute little town in PA, for a delicious BBQ lunch. Art had ribs and I had BBQ beef. On the way back to Princeton we stopped at the Grounds for Sculpture in New Jersey. It is a landscaped park with various bronze sculptures--most modern and abstract, but some replicas of famous paintings.
Art will be home next week just in time to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. Wow! Time is really flying by!
