Now that the weather is nice, Art and I have decided to make a habit of taking Saturday morning walks down along the Hudson River. We could use the exercise, and its good to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. For Memorial Day, we had a picnic down by the river near the bridge. There is a little lighthouse there, the last remaining one on the island of Manhattan. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the sun, the grass, and the river.
Manhattan is on the left. The arrow is pointing to the Empire State Building.

You can see New Jersey across the water.

Whoever had the idea to set aside parkland in Manhattan was a genius! This place would be nothing but a sea of buildings otherwise, and most unbearable indeed!
